Pokhara– Suresh Kumar Shrestha, also known as Sooraz, based in Pokhara, was awarded Hari Gopal Pradahan Photo Journalism Award in Kathmandu last Saturday.
Shrestha, a distinguished professional photojournalist, was recognized with that Award in the beat of entertainment journalism during the 26th annual general meeting of the National Forum of Photo Journalists (NFPJ).
Besides Shrestha, four other journalists Ratna Kishor Shrestha in the culture side, Kalpana Maharjan in the adventure field, Ambika Tolang in eco-tourism, and Bijay Maharjan in the sports field were also given that award during the ceremony.
Furthermore, the NFPJ extended its appreciation to senior photojournalists Raj Bhai Suwal, Ram Gurung, Shreedhar Lal Manandhar, Shekhar Chaulagai, and Prabin Shrestha during the AGM.
Moreover, journalist Mukunda Kalikote received the Madhav Thapa Adventure Photo Journalism Award, which includes a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Additionally, NFPJ Treasurer Sagar Shrestha was honored with the President’s Award at this prestigious AGM chaired by acting chairman Sushil Shrestha.
Forest and Environment Minister Birendra Prasad Mahato was the chief guest of the program. MP Ram Hari Khatiwada and Policy Research Institute director Dipak Kumar Adhikari also put their remarks during the program.
NFPJ Acting General Secretary Ghanshyam Shrestha and Treasurer Sagar Shrestha also presented their annual reports during the programs.
